IFT Home Gym
Instructions

Mounting your IFT Home Gym

The IFT MUST be mounted on a structure that can hold at least 250 lbs./113kg of dynamic weight (the max rating for the IFT).  Make sure our workspace is clear of all objects and the IFT is free from damage or wear before using.

Warning:  Use secure and robust mounting points able to support the dynamic force of your body weight.

Door Mount

IFT Door Mount (Included with system)

Make sure there are no large gaps between the door and the door frame to ensure the Door Mount will not slip through.

  • While standing in front of an outward opening door, hold the Door Mount by the mounting loop and throw the nylon strap with the layered stopper over the top of the door.  Position the Door Mount between the middle of the door and hinge side so the protective pad is facing you.

  • Close the door tightly, locking it if possible.

  • Slip the carabiner on the IFT directly through the mounting loop of the Door Mount.

  • Tug hard on the IFT straps multiple times to ensure both the Door Mount and the IFT are secure before using.

  • Always use on the inside of an outward opening door.

  • Always make sure the door you are attaching the IFT to is strong enough to support the dynamic force of your body weight. If attaching to a hollow core door, insure that the door mount stopper is between the middle of the door and the hinges.  Use at your own risk as some doors may not be strong enough for heavier outward pulling weight.

  • Always make sure your workspace is clear and free of obstacles.  Allow at least 10' in all directions and adjust straps to their shortest lengths for smaller spaces.

  • Always make sure you attach the IFT securely with the carabiner that comes with the unit through the loop on the door mount and tug on the straps hard to ensure it is mounted properly before using.

  • Always make certain there are NO GAPS between the top of the door and the door jamb.  This will ensure that the layered stopper will not slide through.  Failure to do so could cause injury!

  • NEVER use the Door Mount if damage is present.  Always inspect before and after use.

IFT Under-Door Mount (for using with 12" resistance bands) (Sold Separately)

Attach the Under-Door Mount before positioning the IFT Door Mount with protective pad (see above).

The door must have at least ¾” clearance between the bottom of the door and floor.

  • While standing in front of a partially open outward opening door, slide the Under-Door Mount over the edge of the door so the tension knob is on the opposite side from where you will work. Position it between the middle of the door and hinge side, directly under where the IFT Door Mount with protective pad will be positioned.  Secure it in place by tightening the tension knob until snug. Do not overtighten.

  • Follow instructions above to install the Door Mount for the IFT.

  • Connecting 12" resistance bands, connect them to the Under-Door Mount via the carabiner.  There is sufficient room to mount multiple resistance bands simultaneously.

  • Remove one of the handles from the IFT and attach the free carabiner to the resistance band(s).

Warning: Use secure and robust mounting points able to support the dynamic force of your body weight.

  • Attached one end of the Figure 8 Slap Strap that comes standard with all mounting options to the carabiner on the IFT. Throw the loose end over the bar from which you will suspend the IFT, then secure the other end of the Figure 8 Slap Strap to the carabiner on the IFT.  Attach the IFT to the carabiner.  Then your done!

  • Give a couple good tugs on the IFT and begin training!

Extender

IFT 4’ Extender – Vertical Mounting (tree or non-smooth object)

Due to the weight of the IFT, it is not recommended to secure vertically on slippery objects as the weight will pull it down.

  • Disconnect the carabiner from the IFT and set the IFT aside.

  • Wrap the 4′ Extender around the structure at the desired height, the slide the looped end (logo end) through one of the various openings along the strap.

  • Attach the carabiner through the opening of the loop with the logo.

  • Secure the swivel of the IFT to the carabiner, give a couple good tugs to ensure its secure, and get to work!

IFT 4’ Extender – Horizontal Mounting (anything too big for the included Figure 8 Slap Strap to go around)

***Make certain to attach to a safe object. Do not use the IFT around tree limbs, poles, beams... that are weak or not able to handle the dynamic weight of your body and any attachments.

  • Disconnect the carabiner and Figure 8 Slap Strap from the IFT.  The Figure 8 is not needed for this installation but can be used as a weight connector when using the IFT as a cable machine.

  • Throw one end of the Extender over the structure.

  • Slide the carabiner attached to the IFT through one loop on both sides of the Extender at the desired height.

  • Secure the IFT swivel to the carabiner, give a couple good tugs, then begin training!

Examples for Figure 8 Slap Strap use:  Pole on tall chain-link fence usually found at tennis or basketball courts, monkey-bars or pull-up bars, etc.

IFT Home Gym Extender Strap allows for use of the IFT outside on the go and to anchor to high reached places.
How to Operate the IFT
Brakes

Brakes

Engaging the brakes:
To lock the strap in place so it cannot move across the flywheel:

A.  Push the jaws down with a forceful motion until the jaws are locked in a closed position.
Note:  The jaws must be closed enabling the locking bars to seat in the locking bar hooks.

Warning – Pinch Hazard:  Avoid placing any body part between the jaw and locking bars.

Releasing the brakes:

To allow the strap to move freely across the flywheel, grasp the release tabs and pull down until the jaws open.

Maintenance

If the IFT feels as though its movements are becoming rough or starting to stick, apply White Lithium Grease to the areas indicated.  It is not recommended to use WD 40 or any other lubricant.  White Lithium grease has only been tested on our equipment.

Always check nylon for fraying or cuts.

All the hardware has been secured in place with Loctite and should not come loose.  If the unit has any unusual rattling, please check the hardware for any loose screws and rethread with Loctite semi-permanent blue.

Only use outside during dry weather.  It is not recommended to keep the IFT outside when not in use as the metal can rust over time and nylon and plastic could degrade due to extreme temperatures.
